World Parkinson’s Day is the launch Parkinson’s Awareness Week, and Parkinson’s Care and Support UK are delighted to host a free 30 minutes webinar on Mindfulness Meditation and Self-Care at 11am on Sunday 11th April.. The session will be led by Mindfulness Teacher and Speaker Katie Sheen and will include a short meditative practice for you to engage in, if you wish to do so.
Learning how to nourish our resilience, confidence, self-esteem, energy levels and happiness as well as our physical health benefits not just ourselves but also those around us. Therefore caring for ourselves is never a selfish act, but actually one of great compassion for others too, who are deeply affected by our own wellbeing.
A diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease is never easy to accept, so it’s helpful to build strong foundations of self-care to enable us to enjoy living in the present moment, whilst taking care of the past and the future.
The classic image of a seated meditation is only one aspect of mindfulness, and this free webinar provides:
• 20 minutes overview of some simple mindfulness practices that can be woven into everyday life
• 10 minutes mindful self-care meditation for you to relax and enjoy. The meditation can be done in a seated position, or feel free to lie down comfortably with a blanket and a low pillow under your head if you prefer.
You are welcome to turn off your camera for all or part of this webinar.
